The CN Tower in Canada JACQUELINE ENGLISH 4TH LEVEL
Is its most recognizable and celebrated icon. With a height of 553.33m (1815 feet, 5 inches), is Canada's National Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the world, an important telecommunications hub and the centre of tourism in Toronto. Each year, approximately 2 million people visit the CN Tower for having a refreshing view and enjoy all the attractions it has to offer. The CN Tower was built in 1976 by the company Canadian National (CN) who wanted to demonstrate the strength of the Canadian industry in building a tower higher than any other in the world. In 1995, the CN Tower became a public company and ownership of the Tower was transferred to Canada Lands Company (CLC), a federal corporation responsible for real estate development.
